Late April Beltane
Claire and Frank Randall are on holiday at Mrs. Baird's Bed-and-Breakfast in
Inverness, Scotland following the end of World War II. They have been married
seven years, but have not seen each other more than a few days each year during
the war.
Frank and Claire hide on Craigh Na Dun to witness the earl morning Druid ritual
of Beltane taking place in the stone circle.
Claire returns to the stone circle of Craigh Na Dun (that night around 11pm)
where she and Frank previously witnessed the Beltane ritual of Mrs. Graham's
Druid group. She returns to look for a plant she had seen the previous day and
accidently passes through the standing stones to wake up in 1743
.
