Jamie has been sent to Helwater while the other Ardsmuir prisoners have
been sent to the Colonies as indentured servants. At Helwater, he is to work as
a groom in the stables, taking the name Alex MacKenzie. December
John Grey makes an official visit to check on Jamie. This is an awkward event.
