Winter 2002

Hi Gang...

It's been a while since we've had much to talk about! With the terrorist attacks of September 11, most of our "reading for enjoyment" seemed to go down the tubes. Especially, when you consider the types of books we seem to enjoy the most--biological thrillers, end of the world scenario's, and timely non-fiction.

We took some time out in September and November- trying to read Harry Potter in October-- to try to get back some of our love of reading and turn off CNN and MSNBC. With the holidays coming, I imagine that things won't really pick up until January or so.

We've been having trouble ...for a change...with the yahoo-egroup chat rooms and soon...I will make a change to a bravenet chat room for the group if I see we have any internet participants. I am starting to use a room there for my other group. Outlandish Central and will see how it works. Although we are linked to chat at Egroup, normally we seem to meet in an AOL private room because some of the chatters are having problems. Remember...If you are looking for the chat... you can find me on AIM at "bookoworm". I know that sounds confused... so If you want to participate in our chats- email me at bookoworm@aol.com and I'll give you up to date information! It's very important that we get more participation in our chats if we hope to continue them...because I am in school and have some other issues going on. It's difficult to keep this commitment if no one else feels the same way.

We have an active message board at EZBoard: Message Board
If you can't make it to chat... feel free to post there about the books we are discussing!

Just to let you know...our Upcoming Discussions will focus on...
More Thrillers... Atlantis Found, A Walk in the Darkness, and Genesis Code

Please try to make it to our December 17th meeting when we will make decisions about our 2002 selections.

SO...Join us on our boards and participate, join us in our chats and participate! We have a GREAT group of folks who LOVE to discuss books of many different Genres!
