The name "Booka" brings back our fond memories of Cafe Booka at Book Central@ AOL. This is where the original reading group community had its roots from 1996. I was the community manager of Book Central/Cafe Booka and helped develop over 200 online reading groups and train the leaders too! After Book Central closed its doors in June,1999, I moved our community to Oprah Online. After decided to leave that site in February 2000, I took a short sabbatical at Barnes and Noble. I created the Bistro Booka Reading Group to talk about the quirky books I love to Read! |
